Lent and a 3 year old

Today is the first day of Lent.  Alot of people focus on what they are giving up for Lent as a symbol of Jesus's sacrifice but this year I want to focus on being purposeful and intentional with our study of the Bible and this season.  I bought a wooden wreath (I'll try to put pictures of it up later) hand made by a 15 year old boy.  Along with the wreath that can be used during Advent and Lent and Pentecost he hand made a donkey with Mary and a cross that Jesus is carrying.  Each night we light a candle and for this season the cross and Jesus are moved around the wreath until you reach the center or Easter.  Our church this year is doing emails each day of Lent with scripture and a message.  So that is something that I can use at the table with the candle lit and Jesus and the cross to be more purposeful and intentional.  I'm also trying to find something that maybe Virginia can understand to go with each night.  Virginia is literally a sponge right now in what all she absorbs and remembers.  She may not comprehend it all but she's pretty smart.  She learned hieroglyphics and Egypt from a Little Einstein DVD that has been on REPEAT for 2 weeks now.
